School library media specialists, library aides, and guests attended the annual Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES School Library System (CASLS) Recognition Dinner and Meeting held on May 19 at The Ho-Sta-Geh on Rock City Hill in Olean.
This year CASLS honored 1 retiree. Kathy Breuer, Library Media Specialist from Wellsville Middle School, who is retiring after 33 years of service.

School library media specialists, library aides, and guests attended the annual Cattaraugus-Allegany School Library System (CASLS) Recognition Dinner and Meeting held on May 19 at The Ho-Sta-Geh on Rock City Hill in Olean.
CASLS Director, Mary Ann Hebert, presented this year’s recognition award for Teacher of the Year to Jamie Lynn Griffith, a 2nd grade teacher from Randolph Elementary School. This honor is given to a teacher from a member school district who realizes the importance of, and actively promotes, the library media center.
Jamie Lynn was nominated for this honor by Lisa Towne, the Library Media Specialist at Randolph Elementary. Lisa noted that Jamie Lynn, who usually has 75 or more books signed out at a time for her class, is one of her biggest library users. Jamie Lynn also encourages her students to utilize the library in an independent and responsible fashion during open times at the library. Jamie Lynn is in regular communication with and consults with Lisa throughout the school year and takes full advantage of the Interlibrary Loan options available.
